Bicycle built for two…

by Kit on August 25, 2010

“Daisy Daisy,
Give me your answer do!
I’m half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won’t be a stylish marriage,
I can’t afford a carriage,
But you’ll look sweet on the seat
Of a bicycle built for two!”
Familiar with this song? Since I’ll be stuck at home with the baby, I’ve been thinking about buying a bicycle and [...]

A Proud Moment

From the time I was pregnant till the time I’ve been busy with the baby, I have had little chance to check on the boy’s homework or even meet up with his kindergarten teachers.
As he’s a very active boy who will frequently roam around the kindergarten when he’s finished his work or bored with nothing [...]

An Aerochamber and an inhaler

When the boy’s cough didn’t get better after more than 2 weeks (Rhinathiol + Ventolin syrup + Polaramine syrup), which I wasn’t really regular in giving due to to MILLIONS of things I’ve had to rush for the past few weeks, we brought him in to see his paed.
I really wasn’t prepared for what she [...]

Baby blues: Post-partum depression

When I discovered I was pregnant the first time and the second time, I literally jumped with joy!
However, I realize that some people may not be as happy about their second or third etc pregnancy especially if they are having family, money or relationship problems.
Mothers in Malaysia would have read and sympathized with the 35 [...]

Does your baby do this and this and this?

My baby isn’t a year old yet but boy (or girl), is she giving us a headache!
WALKING SOON?
First, I caught her doing “pull-ups” under my dining chair but she’s such a tiny tot, I didn’t think she’d be pulling up yet. But she did!
In the cot. Around the sofa. Near the coffee table.
She looks really [...]

Cooking baby purees and porridge

Recently, I had to go back to the kitchen again and cook for the whole family. Okay, not true. I HAD to cook for 2 little people and then figure out lunch and dinner for myself and the Hubby.
In the end, I just cooked for everyone Easier that way, isn’t it?
Anyway, I had [...]

Burp the baby!

EVERY time you feed the baby milk (breastfeed or formula), you must ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS burp her. Of course, most breastfed babies do not need to be burped…
In my case, my boy was a *difficult* baby – he’d cry for anything:

when he wants his milk;
when he wants to sleep;
when he wets his nappy or poops [...]

It’s getting harder to breastfeed…

I think I will not be able to save my RM1,000+ because it’s getting harder and harder to breastfeed my baby girl:
1. She’s cutting her first tooth – it’s more difficult for her than it was for my boy because she has diarrhea, she’s very irritable, fussy and clingy. Plus, she enjoys biting down the [...]

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese – The Cheesiest

Recently, I was left at home alone with 3 kids and had to think up of a quick lunch for all of us.Rummaging around my kitchen cabinets, I found this pack of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.
Hubby bought it in case we were to travel again. Mac and cheese is one of the three non-Chinese dishes [...]

Can we stop child abuse?

The answer is YES.
Let me share with you 2 experiences:
Case 1
When we were still in China, my boy was around 2 years old and I had great difficulty getting him to eat. He was a VERY FUSSY eater and it worried me sick watching him grow thinner and thinner. Plus, he was falling sick all [...]

Expressing milk: Are you pumping correctly?

If you are a working mother, you’ll understand the pressure to pump out enough breast milk for your baby.
Since my baby is only 2 months old, I time my pumping sessions at 3-hour intervals – but I could only get 1-2 oz per session! Angeleyes sympathized with me when she saw me pumping because I [...]

How to entertain a 2 month old baby

Now that our girl is 2 months old, she spends quite a bit of time staying awake. In fact, she’s very, very active and alert (already noted by ob-gyn at Week 23)

(Favourite activity: Propped up on my lap and looking out the window at trees and leaves billowing in the wind)
Besides breastfeeding, taking a morning [...]
