Shoes, shoes, shoes!

Hubby calls me “Imelda Marcos” now because he found that I own:

a) 5 pairs of black pumps – 1 Lewre (a real dud!), which is why I bought a pair of Made in China brand, which turned out to be half a dud. That’s when I got the Naturalizer and 1 Sembonia (on sale). Finally, I bought 1 Bata because I didn’t want to spoil the Naturalizer

b) 1 pair of navy blue ballet flats – comfy for weekends when we are out with the kids. I love them!

They look something like this Rockport pair although Rockport’s design is more elegant:

c) 1 pair of brown outdoor walking shoes

d) 1 pair of Brooks running shoes

e) 1 pair of white Clarks slippers - bought when I had just delivered No. 2

f)  1 pair of black Hush Puppies heels just in case we attend any formal events. Thank God I had this pair because I had 2 dinners to attend and another super formal one coming up.

Hmm…while I love this pair of heels, I think I’d better wear my camel wedges below especially as my skin is dry and I have no time for pedicure. Since, I’m a stay-at-home Mom, I’d better start saving money again :-S

g) 3 pairs of boots – 2 black, 1 brown

h) 1 *ancient* pair of black Hush Puppies wedges, which I wear to the wet market – perfect because the wedge is high enough for me to avoid any wet puddles and it’s BLACK. Bought them 6 years ago and just had them re-soled.

i) 1 pair of camel Camel moccasins  - Hubby relented when he saw the blisters I got from wearing the LEWRE They are suede so I usually go for the ballet flats when it’s rainy out.

j) 1 pair of taupe peep-toe wedges – Both of us are tired of my BLACK shoe collection…

k) 1 pair of camel flats – bought them when No. 1 was nearly 3 years old, which means that they are 3 years old. Not bad.

Now, I am not a shoe addict. I really am not. I am a book addict. I only have 16 pairs of shoes but I have BOXES and BOXES and BOOKSHELVES of books!

The reason why I have so many pairs of shoes is because:

a) my feet swelled tremendously when I was pregnant with No. 2, which meant that I couldn’t wear any of my normal shoes

b) I became a stay-at-home Mom, which meant that I only needed my Hush Puppies wedges for the wet market and all the flats. I bought that ONE pair of heels just in case we had dinners to attend – I nearly attended a formal dinner in flats once! Never again especially when I had such a nice dress on.

c) I became a working Mom, which meant that I couldn’t wear my super comfy, worn out flats!!! I had a tough time looking for work shoes because they had to look good yet they couldn’t be too high since I walked and stood a lot. That’s why I have FIVE pairs of black pumps and Hubby darn well knows it.

Furthermore, I have big, fat feet sized 38 and I usually have trouble finding nice shoes that don’t make my feet look like Ronald McDonald so when I find a pair that fits and that’s fabulous (in my eyes), it’s for keeps. Sometimes, I am tempted to buy a second pair too but I find that some shoes don’t keep well.

Since I have so many pairs of shoes, I shouldn’t be shopping for shoes anymore, right?

Wrong! I definitely need another pair flats and maybe a pair of slippers IF I can find the right ones

Sooooo…anyone else likes Naturalizer and Rockport too?
