Woo-hoo!!! I am pleased to announce a breakthrough since we’ve sorta started toilet training for the toddler
Two weeks ago, I blogged about how difficult it is to start her potty training: read the post here.
The “auntie” has helped lots by:
a) letting her go diaper-free after her bath and
b) trying on the various cloth diapers I have in my stash.
For now, she’s tried and *approved* (she’s such a diva!!!)
a) the Bum Genius Bamboo Fitted diaper and
b) the super soft PINK Swaddlebees cloth diapers
WE put her in all-in-ones or pocket diapers when she’s ready for naps but most of the time, she’s climbing, dancing, jumping or stomping around in fitted cloth diapers.
I love Swaddlebees (review and pics coming soon…) because she loves them and also, they can contain about 90% of her pee…
Last night, Hubby and I were chatting over dinner when the toddler paused, with eyes opened wide and sat still for a moment. I was watching her out of the corner of my eye but I didn’t say anything hehehe
Then, she made the announcement, “Mi! (Mummy) Wet!”
I was so happy! She was on the sofa and Hubby and the nanny had been cleaning the cover quite a number of times due to these little accidents.
I went over her with another clean Swaddlebees, kissed her and said:
“Oh, nappy wet? Good – Mummy change the nappy, ok? Clever lor…wow, so clever…” (Yes, the princess needs A LOT Of praise)
She was happy and gave me a big smile
The, she looked over to her father and I gave him the evil eye.
Quickly, the father gave a doting smile and said, “Wow, clever!!! Nappy wet must change, ok? If not the sofa will get wet…” OMG, I growled at him before he could continue his lecture…
This morning, she came to me again with a wet nappy. Since I still have to go to work, I told her to go to the “auntie” when she has a wet diaper.
Yay…we’re on to potty training! Yeah, baby!
