Swiss-Miss Milk Chocolate and Tapioca pudding

If you’re a busy Mom like me, then you’ll understand the need to stock up your fridge with snacks, snacks and snacks to feed two active and hungry kids.

Now, I try to feed my kids as many healthy snacks as possible i.e. wholemeal bread, sugar-free cookies, fresh fruits, dried fruits and nuts but sometimes, it’s hard to say no to snacks with bright and attractive packaging in the supermarket.

Since forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest, I let them choose the snacks they want sometimes.

One day, my son decided that he absolutely NEEDED to buy the Swiss-Miss Milk Chocolate pudding, which costs about RM19 for a tray of 6 little cups:

Now, only God knows why I decided to throw in another tray of the Swiss-Miss Old Fashioned Tapioca Pudding:

Ahh…I remember now! We’d watched Renee Zellweger’s comedy “New In Town” and the tapioca pudding made by the Minnesota housewives looked so delicious in the movie, I wanted to try some too. Yes, I’m a total wimp when it comes to food :D

Proof in the pudding

Well, as much as I wanted to like the Original Tapioca pudding, it was just too rich. I couldn’t even finish half a cup.

I think Hubby and I took quite some time finishing the Original Tapioca pudding LOL

Since the boy was digging into his milk chocolate one with much gusto, I decided to try a spoonful.

Mmm…the Milk Chocolate one wasn’t too bad. It was smooth and chocolate-y.

Initially, he couldn’t finish a cup but now, no problem. The tot doesn’t like it though, sigh!

Looks I have to hunt for something BOTH of them will like.

I’m too sad about this because sugar was second on the list of ingredients:

Furthermore, Hubby thought it was madness for me to pay such a high price for a tapioca dessert when tapioca is so cheap in Asia!

Yeah, easy for him to say – can he find a cheap, healthy and tasty snack BOTH his kids will like???

do your children like avocado ? you can easily mix it with some vanila ice cream, and it’s great. maybe too simple & you’ve tried before, but this one pop up in my mind as it’s easy & avocado is rich in vitamins & folat :)
