“Yay, I’m SIX years old!!! Hurray!!! Hurray!!!”
That’s what the boy yelled on the morning of his birthday, which he had started keeping track of since Christmas!
You see, his Mum is very strict and tells him that he can only have presents TWO days in a year i.e. Christmas and his birthday, that’s why
I’d wanted to organize a birthday PARTY for him and invite friends and their kids over to our place for all of us to catch up. With Chinese New Year and the long to-do list, which includes visits to the doctors and dentists for ALL of us, we decided to celebrate it with family at home.
We started the day in Paddington’s House of Pancakes at Gurney Plaza.
Ever since we had the biggest family dinner there years ago, Paddington’s House of Pancakes has become his favourite restaurant.
I *tried* to entice him to Chilli’s, Chicago Ribs or Dome (my favourite restaurant) but no, he chose this place.
Hubs said that it’s his birthday and it’s his choice.
After lunch, we headed home for the real party to begin
The birthday party
The night before, we’d gone to Toys R Us to get some party supplies: balloons, party hats, party plates and party cups.
When the guests arrived, he dealt out party hats to the kids. When my sister wanted to wear one, he said, “Nooooooo, are you a kid? Party hats are only for the boys and girls.”
Then, he carefully allocated birthday cupcakes to his guests e.g. giving the pink or girlish ones to the girls while the guys got the others. He saved the center one with the words “Angry Birds” for himself LOL:
He had a really nice time because he was home with his family.
The toddler had a ball too since she was surrounded by so many kids. I’m sure she misses all of them now that she’s back to her daily routine with the maid. I’m wondering what her birthday party is going to be like?
Happy Birthday, my dear boy! May God bless you and watch over you.
Lots of love,
Mummy and Papa
