Here comes the toddler…

by SuperMom on January 12, 2012

Time flies. This saying is so true when we look back at the past year and see our toddler’s photos:

12 months old

Celebrating her first Christmas after her first (toddler) birthday, she needed help opening her Christmas presents.

Her favourite uncle, my brother-in-law, delighted in helping her open her presents.

She has a special relationship with my BIL because he would help to carry her around the restaurant (when Papa is not around) when she was a baby.

Once, he thought that he could relax since he had her in his arms but this little princess started squealing and he jumped up muttering, “Oops, I’m not allowed to sit!” :D

My family was really tickled once when he actually asked my sister to take the wheel because our princess was fast asleep in his arms – he didn’t want to wake her up.

Don’t you think she’s such a charmer?

I love this ballerina tutu she has on – I’d bought it on sale at 50% off because it’d been hanging up for too long at a baby shop.  I wanted to buy her a pair of ballet shoes too but they were too expensive…

13 months old

Her first winter. Just look at those chubby pink cheeks. This is one of my favourite photos.

The two of us were just lolling about on bed because the father was out grocery shopping with her brother. I think I was down with a fever and a flu.

That didn’t stop me from taking out my camera to capture a few shots of this cute little girl.

She’s drooling quite a bit here because she’s teething.

Just like her brother, she sprouted her bottom teeth first.

Thankfully, she doesn’t drool as much as her brother did.

I remember how dripping wet her brother’s tops used to be! Poor kid, he drooled till he was about 3 years old, I think.

She would gnaw just about anything solid she could get her hands on though – her water bottle, her teething ring, a spoon and even my finger!

Yup, this tiny tyke will actually reach out for my finger and stick it into her mouth!

14 months old

From the poor rubber ducky in her mouth, you can see that our toddler is a foodie.

She comes crawling to you if you hold a bowl or a spoon. I remember how I had to have ALL the food, bowls and spoons ready before I brought them out or she’ll scream for food when she sees a utensil!!!

She loves to have 2 of anything: if you gave her a cookie, she’d want another to hold in her hand.

Besides that, she starting holding on to furniture to pull herself up.

This means she created a HUGE mess wherever she went – she pulled down toy boxes so that everything falls down around her. See the example?

She has a funny habit of getting into the toy box that she’s playing in too :-)

I have many shots of her sitting inside boxes and buckets playing with the “toys” there.

Our super toddler can also drive her brother’s toy scooter too by pushing hard on her short legs LOL And she just *LOVES* it when her brother puts her in front of him on the toy scooter and whizzes around the apartment…

15 months old

She starts walking and I’ve had to move:

a) jugs of water further back on the kitchen counter

b) mugs of pens and pencils back on my writing desk

c) files of CDs, creams, lotions, tissue paper and what-not higher up on shelves!

d) bottles / jars of food away from the dining table because she would climb up onto the dining chair and then on to the dining table when she felt hungry O_O

e) chairs away from the writing desk because she would also climb up to reach for items there…

This month also marks the toddler catching chicken pox after visiting her brother at his school.

Ahh…our toddler has been up to many more adventures since she started walking. Stay tuned ;-)
