If you’re a pregnant Mom shopping for a steam sterilizer to sterilize baby bottles and breast pumps, you may want to check out the Little Bean Steam Sterilizer and Warmer.
For my first baby, I simply used boiling hot water to sterilize bottles, teats and breast pumps – I think the only steam sterilizer in the market then was AVENT, which was incredibly expensive.
Many breastfeeding Moms use sterilizing tablets but I hate the smell of those. I am glad that more affordable steam sterilizers like Little Bean are available now
For the second baby, I thought we would have to buy the AVENT steam sterilizer but then I read that it had some circuit issues. At the baby shop, the sales assistant suggested the Little Bean Steam Sterilizer and Warmer set for about RM159.90 and I am glad we bought it!
Here is the Little Bean steam sterilizer, which will sterilize your baby bottles in 8 minutes:
Here’s the inside of the steam sterilizer:
The bottom layer can fit in 6 large AVENT /small regular-sized bottles (facing down) or your breastpump horn. The top layer holds the bottle rings and rubber/silicone teats:
NOTE: You need to wash your baby bottles with soapy water first before you sterilize them. It’s not a dish-washer, ok?
Here is the Little Bean baby bottle warmer, which I gave to the babysitter for her convenience. The bottle warmer is great for her because she could set the heat at just the right level to warm up the expressed breast milk.
The Little Bean set also comes with a juice extractor (unused) that I didn’t have time for. The lid and cup doesn’t really fit well, though…
If you are planning to breastfeed your baby exclusively and will need to sterilizer your breast pumps for 6 months, a year or 2 years, I think you should look out for the Little Bean Steam Sterilizer and Warmer.

Hi, I bought this set and jut started using it 2 weeks ago. Read the manual and just wasn’t clear on the bottle warmer. Could I ask, is the bottle warmer a wet or dry warmer? Can I warm a bottle of milk without first putting water in the warmer? I’ve tried Googling but couldn’t find an answer. Many thanks.
Janice – Aiks! You need to fill about an inch of cool water in the warmer or you may blow the fuse. Look inside the warmer and you will see a “max” level indicator.
I can’t recall how long it takes to warm a bottle up but my babysitter found it really useful to heat up chilled breastmilk from the fridge.
Frozen breastmilk may take a longer time but I still found this better and more energy-saving than using a mug of hot water each time
i really do know ho to use the warmer because my manual using lost
Rose – If I remember correctly, you need to fill the bottle warmer with the required amount of water and then turn the dial to the “baby bottle” or “baby porridge” pictures indicated. Look inside the bottle warmer – I think you’ll find a —- indicator and the words “MAX”, which means that the maximum amount of water you should pour in. It shouldn’t be too much, about 2 cm or so. Hope this helps!
Hi! once the breast milk is heated up, does the warmer maintain the milk at the same temperature if the baby is not ready to eat yet or will it cool down and reheat again? how long can it maintain the temperature? at night, i can’t estimate when baby will wake up to drink milk cos sometimes he can sleep a long time and sometimes shorter.
kmching – I think the warmer keeps the milk at that temperature (about 40 deg C, if I recall) for as long as the bottle is in it.
No idea for how long it’ll keep because the babysitter uses to warm up the milk about 30 minutes before feeding time?
Why don’t you breastfeed directly at night? I find the side-lying position the easiest because I can breastfeed baby when he/she cries and then go back to sleep after he/she is done. And definitely no need to worry about bottles and warmers
hi! tks for the info… i started with direct feeding and it’s a long story how i ended up bottle feeding my baby. ha ha…
kmching – Ok, ok, no need to explain. Totally understand.
All the best, ya!
I would like to know the safety feature. What happen if the water level is way below the minimum when the strerilizer starts. Will it shut off by itself due to overheating? My maid is very forgetfull. I am afraid she may forgot to fill in enough water.
Shima – I only need about 1/2 cup of water for the steamer and then I press the button. It counts down from 8 minutes and when it’s done, there is a loud “BEEP!” and the steamer stops. I don’t need to do anything after that.
Sometimes, I don’t use the bottles immediately and find that everything has cooled down. Do check with the shop owner you’re buying it from esp if you have such a forgetful maid!
hi kitty, do these sterilizer and warmer fit all types of baby bottles? i’m planning of using avent but yet so worry if it couldnt fit into this little bean products. thanks!
bee – Yes, large sized AVENT bottles fit into the sterilizer and warmer.
