Since I’ll be stuck at home with the baby, I’ve been thinking about buying a bicycle and fitting it with a bicycle rack so that I can go places with the little girl.
Since many people cycle around these parts and a few of my friends cycle too, I wouldn’t need to move out of our current apartment – I can just cycle to the wet market every morning after the boy goes to school 
Of course, I have auto insurance but I have to check with our insurance agent if it covers bicycles too.

I love to ride a bicycle especially if there are no hilly areas – it’s nice to feel the wind in your hair, it’s a great way to get around and it’s environmentally-friendly
Another brand is the Topeak BabySeat Child Bike Seat with Aluminum Rack (Disc Mount Version)
A used made in China bike costs about RMB300+ while an imported brand costs about RMB600+.
The bike rack will set us back at least US$59-100 (unless I can find a used one in excellent condition) but all in, the total cost is cheaper than moving out of our current apartment.
IF I do get the bike, I’ll have to keep it a secret from the boy or he’ll definitely demand to be toted around at the back of the bike too! And I could probably only do that during the weekends when Hubby is around to take over the little girl.

My dear, I really think that the idea of using bike to go to market is excellent! Here at The Netherlands, I saw some parents bring their kids to market and shopping with this kind of carrier: “Chariot Carriers CX 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis ” (you may search for this carrier at Google), and it is really nice and fun for the kids. Some of the carrier can even fit 2 kids in~ Anyway, this is just some thought and idea from a single fancy lady! Hehehe…….. :p Best of luck to you~
Hooi Ling – My biking dream is put on hold because I can’t find a safe baby carrier to strap te girl down. She’s really naughty because she can escape from her high chair! Luckily, the Graco Citisport stroller can keep her safe and secure. Until I can find the baby carrier, I’ll have to walk for now…
