Can Abbott’s Natopherol Dermal Defense E reduce stretch marks?

by SuperMom on July 15, 2010

For my first pregnancy, Palmer’s Cocoa Butter did not help me even though I *obsessively* applied it before and after my baths and before and after the pregnancy.

Granted, I put on and lost 30 kg O_O

For my second pregnancy, Bio Oil had no effect and neither did regular olive oil. What’s worse, I have a C-section scar this time right below my jelly belly :-(

I’ve lost quite a lot of the baby weight that friends remark I’m looking even slimmer than I was before I became pregnant. It’s all breastfeeding, cutting down on carbs, taking of two kids and STRESS…

Anyway, I’m quite bugged about the stretch marks and the C-section scar. I don’t complain about it but Hubby knows I’m quite sensitive about it.

Then, I went out on a triple date with my dear friend and she asked me,

“Have you tried that Vitamin E you recommended to me previously?”

For a while, I stared at her like Heidi’s (or Peter’s) little goats and then S-L-O-W-L-Y recalled what she’s talking about.

Gosh! I’d forgotten about the pure Vitamin E capsules!

In case you don’t already know about this, they are natural Vitamin E in capsule form which you break and rub into your skin. Kinda like those amphoules (spelling correct?) the facial ladies are always recommending…

Anyway, I have seen the Abbott’s Natopherol Dermal Defense E working on two of my friends:

1. Friend A fell off a motorbike while chasing after a cute guy who was running away from her on campus. Okay, maybe that wasn’t really what happened but she DID fall from a motorbike and she had terrible grazes since she fell onto our bitumen road.

I followed the poor girl to the clinic and the nice doctor advised her to look for the Vitamin E capsules. I think we got them from Guardian or Watson’s and she dutifully applied a capsule each day over her grazes.

Voila! Her bloody grazes slowly healed, the wounds closed, then her skin turned purple and finally, she got back some decent-looking knees :D

2. Friend B had a bad gash on her arm. Try as I could, I cannot remember HOW she got that gash. She’s still busy lecturing me about being forgetful but I remember dragging her to Guardian or Watson’s and hunted down the Abbott’s Natopherol Dermal Defense E again.

This lady was skeptical about whether it’ll work but hey, it did. And now, she’s recommending it back to me LOL

Oh-kye, I bought myself a box of 30 capsules (RM65) at a local pharmacy and got a bit too excited – I used up 4 capsules! My belly is pretty big but I find I only need 2 capsules each time and my first swipe is at my C-section scar.

The C-section scar still feels a bit itchy at times and it hurts when the boy rams his head into my stomach FOR FUN!!! Of course, he gets a huge yell from me but do you think it’s effective? Of course not. -_-

It’s still too early to tell since I’ve only used it for a week but compared to the other 2 lotions, I can see a visible difference. The skin looks less dry and the lined and loose surface looks a bit “tighter” if you know what I mean.

I’ve already used up more than one tray (15 capsules, 1 tray = 10 capsules) but I’ve got another 21 days x 2 capsules to go. I will be buying another box soon to keep up the routine for a month plus.

Has anyone tried Abbott’s Natopherol Dermal Defense E in an attempt to rid belly fat (aka stretch marks) too? Do share…

If it works for me, I’ll be sure to show you “before” and “after” photos, ok? Hmm…I think that it’s time Abbott consider giving back to its loyal customers, eh? I can tell you how many cans of Similac and Isomil I have been buying.

Angeleyes – What are “kiloids”???

jacss – Sigh, it wasn’t easy as I had to eat a lot of salads and cut down on my favourite rice, breads, cakes, cookies and other carbs :P

But the results are worth it! I can fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans (woohoo!) and I get people asking, “You have TWO kids???” Heheheheheh ;-) ;-)

The stretch marks are the only problem…what if I wanna wear a bikini when I’m 40 or 50 during my mid-life crisis???
