* GIVEAWAY CLOSED  *

The Baby Organic Store is giving away 2 (two) shopping vouchers worth RM80 each.

What lovely items can you pick up there?

The Baby Organic Store Cotton_small

(CLOCKWISE, LEFT TO RIGHT: How about an organic cotton Hum bundler for cold nights? Or Baby Haha Tee & Pants for outdoor adventures? Maybe a robin’s egg blue kimono dress or a Prance tie-dress? I know I *love* that oh-so-juicy-looking watermelon plush toy!)

And I am sooo tempted to buy the super-soft 100% organic Egyptian cotton fitted crib sheet…

Why do I need organic cotton baby clothes or toys?
Consider these facts about conventionally grown cotton:

  1. Conventionally grown cotton is the 2nd most pesticide-laden crop in the world (after corn),
  2. The crop consumes 25% of the insecticides, more than 10% of the pesticides used worldwide,
  3. # 7 of the top 15 pesticides used on conventionally grown cotton in the United States have been classified by the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) as potential or known carcinogens,
  4. Conversion of conventional cotton into clothes uses numerous toxic chemicals at each stage – silicone waxes, harsh petroleum scours, softeners, brighteners, heavy metals, flame and soil retardants, ammonia and formaldehyde – to name just a few,
  5. It takes roughly one-third of a pound of chemicals (pesticides and fertilizers) to grow enough cotton for just one T-shirt

If BPA in baby bottles isn’t worrying enough, we’ve got to start looking into our children’s cotton clothes esp as:

Babies have the most sensitive skin so it is particularly in those early years that we have to protect them.

Their skin is thinner and can more readily absorb toxins (residue from toxic chemicals used in conventional cotton agriculture and processing remains in the cotton fibre).

Once absorbed by the skin, these toxins accumulate in the brain, heart, liver, kidneys and bones. This accumulation can cause a wide variety of health problems.

Ohh..I love the strawberry. My 7 months baby is on the stage of chewing everything that I have to hide some of the toys due to safety reason. So, getting an eye-catching toy with safety in place is such a relief for a mom.

I’m a non-blogger.

My baby loves to chew any cloth. Be it edge of pillow case, my prayer mat & even bath rug!
Have to keep BIG open eye on him. Even heard my 7yo saying “It’s dirty. You will get H1N1.”

My favourite item from the store is…..
Summer Dress Plum.
The dress has a very oriental look to it because of the all-over plum blossom prints! Plus it’s 100% organic without any harmful dyes.

The item that caught my eye is the Summer Babybody which is something I’ve been looking for my baby. With our hot weather today, my toddler would sweat so much, so this bodysuit will keep him cool and safe ! I like the pastel colors and cute prints too. Made of soft rib knit and Made with the finest 100% organic Egyptian cotton.
