We need a holiday…
Now that the dust has settled at home – we’re still trying to get into the baby’s rhythm (or she into ours?), Hubby has been reading out travel deals featured in the newspapers – AirAsia, MAS, JetStar etc with fantastic flight discounts
We have been talking about Australia or New Zealand as we’ve never been there and these two places are pretty family friendly. We’d also love to go back to the UK particularly Ireland and Scotland…
We *love* all things Irish (e.g. movies, books and music – could be the Catholic connection, you know?) In fact, I wanted to name our kids “Ian”, “Sean”, “Shane”, “Keenan”, “Colleen”, “Andrea”, or “Isabel”
My sister has been to Dublin and took beautiful, beautiful shots of Ireland’s capital city with its delightful sweet shops. She also had lots to share about her experiences trying to understand the Irish lilt!
However, she warned that we’ll need to find good deals for Dublin accommodation since hotels (or anything in the UK!) is pretty pricey…
I know my football-mad husband would love to go to Liverpool, the home ground of one of his favourite British football clubs (bleagh!). If we do go, Alisa and I will just lounge about our Liverpool accomodation and let the boys go gawk at some football stadium!
Mmm…I don’t know much about Scotland except for Mel Gibson’s Braveheart; Edinburgh (other than it being pronounced as “Edin-brah”) or Glasgow but hey, travel = discovery and exploration, right?
Anyway, Glasgow sounds good to me because there are Victorian-style hotels there and good shopping sites…

In any case, our dream family holiday to the UK remains a dream unless we can get CHEAP deals on Edinburg accomodation or Glasgow Accomodation or we’re sponsored a trip there!

Having to tow two kids along for holiday is not really my cup of tea. We have been bringing our two kiddos whenever we went travelling, be it to another town, another state or another country, furthest yet is down under in Perth. We went to Perth for 10 days, and the eldest kiddo fell sick for 5 days there, and consequently daddy and mommy also fell sick taking care of him. Imagine three of us having to make appointment to see the doc….and the medical bills there ain’t cheap…
Given a chance to start afresh, I’d rather wait till my kiddos are older like 2 years old(when they only need to have 1 afternoon nap instead of several naps in between) and it’s easier too when they can walk on their own, else, mummy’s gonna sling/carry them if they refuse the stroller! Plus, kids have a LOT of luggage…you need to bring a few extras for everything!!
Anyway, the plus is I always end up slimmer when I come back from travelling (all the rushing and carrying and walking and running)! It is quite an encouraging reward for all the hard work!
KittyCat: Agree with you 100%
We’ve travelled before when the boy was about 10 months old until he turned 3 so our baggage packing experiences have evolved a lot! But now that there’s TWO, will definitely wait till the babe’s a bit older, maybe one year old before venturing anywhere.
Whoa! Still can write paid posts post C-sect! Salute salute
KittyCat: Wei…don’t teasemelah. A SAHM’s gotta do what a SAHM’s gotta do LOL Until she’s fully breastfeeding, I’ve got to buy expensive milk powder for her O_O
