Among all the fitted cloth diapers I’ve tried i.e. Bumgenius Bamboo, Freshbots Terrycloth, Loveybums Sherpa and Swaddlebees Organic Velour, the Happy Heiny’s Huggers are definitely one of my favourites!
Made of two layers of highly absorbent Sherpa and three layers of terrycloth, both the toddler and I love this all-natural fitted cloth diaper.
At first glance, the Happy Heiny’s Huggers doesn’t look attractive especially as it’s ONLY available in a natural, off-white colour. Also, I have to admit that I wasn’t very confident when I saw the “crinkled” edges of the cloth diaper – looked like a poor design to me!

HAPPY HEINY’S HUGGERS – INSIDE
Spread out, the Happy Heiny’s Huggers is a simple fitted cloth diaper with an extra thick middle layer containing 2 layers of sherpa and 3 layers of terrycloth.
TODDLER IN HAPPY HEINY’S HUGGERS – FRONT
Because the Happy Heiny’s Huggers come in snaps, it was quite a struggle putting the cloth diaper on to him but he certainly didn’t reject the material as he usually does with non-natural materials.
Can you see how well the cloth diaper (size M) fits him? It looks good and it must have been comfortable for him because he could run, jump, crawl and wriggle as he usually did without tugging at it etc.
The Happy Heiny’s Huggers even looked good from the side
In terms of absorbency, the Huggers did well because it contained 2 wettings well before the toddler ripped it off! Yup, that’s what he does, which is why I tend to look for cloth diapers with Velcro rather than snaps.
The Happy Heiny’s Huggers show greater absorbency compared to Loveybums Sherpa and Swaddlebees Organic Velour where pee actually dripped through during the second wetting!
The Bumgenius Bamboo Fitted comes as a close second but I prefer the softness of the Happy Heiny’s Huggers.
Next, I’d love to try out the Happy Heiny’s Happy Hempys if they are available around Malaysia
