As an XL-sized breastfeeding Mum, I always have trouble finding suitably sized nursing bras. Thus, I became interested in the Bravado Essential Maternity/Nursing Tank Top.
I like the way the tank top’s (in Chocolate) mix of 100% cotton and stretchy Spandex feels so cool and comfortable.
Not easy finding clothes with such nice material here!
The nursing tank is well-designed because the cutting looks good on me, fleshy arms and all.
Plus, it falls down nicely just over your hips – a perfect combo with my favourite jeans.
Because it is a nursing tank, the nursing clip attached to one strap unclasps exactly like a nursing bra (see pic below).
The nursing clip took a few tries for me to get used to – I finally figured out that you need to flick it back with your thumb

While the molded, seamless shelf bra offered good support (without underwire) I’d have prefered more padding or even underwire for a better lift.
I’d say that the Bravado Essential Maternity/Nursing Tank Top is ideal for:
- breastfeeding at home or
- expert ‘breastfeeding in public’ Mums who can wield the nursing clasp under a cardigan (Bravado also sells a matching shrug to go with the tank)
Due to the fact that the nursing tank unclasps completely, needs some padding and more support, I’m still undecided on whether I should keep it…
Furthermore, I read a review, which mentioned 2 key points i.e.
a) the elastic band gets loose over time and
b) the cup sizes aren’t entirely accurate as they are grouped together (e.g. I thought D/E would fit me but it didn’t!)
I REALLY like the soft, stretchy, comfortable and durable material AND its design, which means I could still wear it even after I’ve stopped breastfeeding. Such a simple tank top is worth keeping even though it costs US$45 each (on sale sometimes at US$40.50) because the quality of the spandex cotton is *really* good.
Personally, I would only recommend the Bravado Nursing Tank Top for ladies who are sized between A, B, C and D if you’re looking for adequate support.
