Ready, get set, go?
I can’t believe that I’m actually going to do this. Hubby is still asking me,
“Are you REALLY sure? We’ll discuss it in more detail before we confirm…”
I’m stressed out by TWO article deadlines this week so have not been able to focus on this yet. Anyhow, I can only meet up with friends AFTER I finish my articles! For now…
Mother-in-Law says YES!
I love how fast she makes her decisions (we’re similar that way) and she’s already making plans to renew their visas, organize help to water her plants, check on the house etc.
The hospital still sounds OK
My friend’s gonna connect me with a few ladies who delivered there recently. According to her, everyone’s giving it the OK sign except for a few complaints about the epidural not working perfectly O_O
The cleaner is happy to extend days/hours
I’ve yet to confirm this with her because she can only do housekeeping and help prepare vegetables.
As she can’t come on Fridays, I can imagine how crazy we’ll all be with the preschooler, the baby and the cooking!
Breakfast lady = confinement lady?
If you read about my Chinese porridge for breakfast, you’ll know that the stall owner and I have become good friends.
She’s quite a cool lady and was nice to my in-laws when I brought them there for breakfast
Father-in-law loved the porridge with salted egg and salted vege, while mother-in-law enjoyed the you tiau and luo bo gao (carrot cake).
When I asked about local confinement ladies (no stay-ins), she said she’d check around for me. Other women nearby also gave me job descriptions, salary ranges and quirks to look out for!
Later, the porridge lady said that she’s busy or she’d love to be my confinement lady (zuo yuezi). A lady eating breakfast said that she’s a good cook and also great with kids.
I would love to have her too since:
Our only disagreement is that girls (me) are better than boys (her)!
Hearing this, I asked her to think about it since we’re already breakfast buddies. She was happy that I’d like her to and would think about it since it’s still a long way to go
Baby and post-partum supplies
Baby’s birth registration
A colleague here has experienced and has briefed Hubby all about it. I just hope the process won’t take long because I am hoping to return to Malaysian early January before it gets really, really cold during Chinese New Year.
That’s all I can think of for now.

Glad that everything seems to work out really fine at your side!!! Enjoy your pregnancy from now on
No need special maternity pads lah. In fact the 2nd time round, I’d used the “Night time Heavy Flow” sanitary pads, which were much more absorbent than the Madame brand. Wow, looks like you ARE going to deliver in China!! (although I was a tad sad…thought I could travel up to Penang to meet you in person)

Agree with Paik Ling, no need maternity pads. I’ve bought myself the extra long Night-Safe kind of sanitary pads. Will be using them this time round.
Thanks everyone for your support when I thought I could try this out. You ladies are invaluable
Paik Ling & A Mom’s Diary – Now I remember I used a brand called ‘Enhance’ (peach packaging) or something which was very comfy when Madame was out of stock. Did you use a specific brand?
Wow.. with a CL, and MIL, you’ll be in good hands.
