Dear baby,
I am sorry if I have not been talking to you much these past weeks – a nasty phlegm which has me choking keeps me really quiet. The nausea doesn’t help either but I promise you I’ll talk to you more once all this is over!
First, you’re one tough baby to feed: when I was carrying your brother, I simply had to avoid eggs and oranges and I didn’t have any phlegm. With you, I still haven’t identified the root cause that Grandma tells me it’s just the baby’s “piak” (whatever that is).
We think you’ve got Western tastes because you’re happy and satisfied when I eat a Whopper from Burger King, a Big Mac from McDonald’s, pizza or Mexican food
You’ve been turning up your little nose at Chinese food so far (except the ones I cook at home). And you don’t seem to like ANY fresh juices – orange, apple, mango, watermelon, pear, guava etc. But you like fresh salads and fruit though
Unlike your brother, fish (and seafood) makes my stomach heave – your Papa hopes you’re not gonna be a dumb-dumb because I ate A LOT of fish for your brother. He’s insisted that I take his Salmon Fish Oil supplements…
Second, your brother accepts the fact that there’s a baby in my stomach
Nowadays, he’ll even ask to lift up my blouse so he can talk to the baby. He says the same things i.e. “Hello baby! This is Lucas. Good night and bye bye” followed by a gentle kiss.
Now that the stomach is bigger, he likes to jiggle it sometimes but I’ll ask him to be gentle. I bet HE won’t have any stretch marks because he’s putting on olive oil too each time I put mine LOL
He’ll play with you but no, you can’t share his trains, books or CDs YET. You can play with “toys” though (rolls eyes).
Your Papa has been quite nice too – remembering to kiss you and talk to you a bit before he goes off to work or at night before we sleep.
Third, the old folks say that toddlers can tell a baby’s gender if you ask them. When I asked him, he said baby is a “boy”.
Although I’ve been thinking of Eva, Elina, Katrina and Natalie and ogling at all the pink and frilly items in baby’s shops (and having trouble finding another boy’s name as nice as Lucas), your Papa and I will be equally happy if you’re a boy, ok?
We’re going for the next doctor’s appointment and ultrasound scan soon and hope that we can find out then (especially as it’s illegal to reveal a baby’s gender in China).
Until then, Papa has also been looking around for a home theater system since we’ll be stuck at home for at least 2 years after you arrive
Kiss, kiss, kiss
Mummy

Awww, so sweet… nice to know that Lucas showers his affections on baby
)
Hey.. all the best in the next check up. I’m excited to find out the gender too. Meanwhile you take care ya. Hugsss and kisses to Lucas too.
you are expecting
do you like to have a gal or boy? I mean yourself not your hubby. I know everyone parent will say boy or gal nevermind.
Toddlers can tell the gender of the baby, that’s the first time I hear this. But I think Lucas says boy because children like playmate of the same gender, no? YY has always steadfastly says she wants a mei-mei…hahaha.
Bart – Ya, I’m happy alright. Does Julian chat with baby too?
EtceteraMommy – Thanks. Sigh, got to wait till 20 weeks now…
Sherry – Interesting question
I’d love to have a little girl I can share everything with…
A Mom’s Diary – It’s the first time I’m hearing it too! I think you’re right. Lately, Lucas has changed ‘boy’ to ‘girl’ hahaha so it’s not valid.
thanks for answer my question so true gal can share everything with
gal has so much fashion to choose from too.
aww..that’s sweet. The best is a healthy happy bubby..
but i’d like a girl too..hehehehehehehehehe….
Sherry & Mott – You’ve said it
