*Check out my guide on ‘How to choose cloth diapers‘!

I bought this sherpa cloth diaper by Loveybums after reading some reviews online. Loveybums’ cloth diapers:

“…have two layers of 16 oz. sherpa in the body, with a snap-in soaker of 3 additional layers of sherpa. The snap-in soaker can stay snapped in when washed and dried, and will still dry in one cycle.”

I bought it ‘gently-used’ for RM45 from LilDanzell and was pleased when the cloth diaper arrived looking as good as it appeared in the photos.

OUTSIDE

Here’s what the cloth diaper looks like with the snaps on – on the outside, the sherpa material is quite soft to the touch although not as soft as sherpa wipes.

A ‘fitted’ diaper, you need to get it in the size that fits your baby or toddler. I got it in size ‘M’ or ’2′ for the boy.

Remember that ‘fitted’ cloth diapers are not waterproof!

INSIDE

To me, what matters most is the fabric or material INSIDE the cloth diaper because that’s the part right next to your baby’s or toddler’s skin.

A two-in-one fitted cloth diaper, the soaker can stay snapped in or removed when it’s time for a wash.

WASHING
Since only 2 buttons are involved, it’s easy to dismantle and put together before and after washing :-)

The cloth diaper dries pretty quickly too and the soaker feels soft and absorbent even after washing.

However, the outside of cloth diaper was slightly stained by a bluish-purple colour of another garment in the wash. Will need to see if I can get the stain off!

WEARING
Since the Loveybums cloth diaper is made up of only 2 layers of cloth, it can only absorb one wetting.

I don’t mind this because my intention of putting him on cloth diapers was for toilet training – he’d try to rip off the diaper as soon as he was wet. Or he’ll yell, “Pee!”

Also, I prefer to change cloth diapers regularly i.e. every 3-4 hours and thus do not like the idea of baby or toddler in a ‘urine-soaked’ cloth diaper no matter how absorbent it is!

Here’s my toddler in Loveybums’ fitted cloth diaper when he was 30 months old. The cloth diaper fits quite well although I feel that the ‘ruffles’ edges made him look girlish :-)

A really good point about Loveybums Fitted Sherpa diaper is that the snaps and material stay strong even after many, many times of:

  • a toddler ripping the snaps off himself and
  • washing and drying
  • If you’re looking for a soft, comfortable, 100% cloth and breathable fitted cloth diaper for your baby or toddler (especially girls), you may want to try Loveybums.

I am still looking for a good CD. Haiz.. not sure which one is good. Eh… how many wettings does one CD normally takes? And for infant, how many wettings?

Malaika’s Mummy – Sorry for missing out this comment. The CD’s absorbency depends on your kid’s wetting also i.e. some babies are heavywetters while some are light. For example, my boy is a heavywetter but my girl’s urine output is not as heavy as his.

Infants would need more frequent nappy changes esp if they are breastfed. Actually, I didn’t dare to cloth diaper the girl when she was an infant because I had to change the cloth diaper so many, many, many times I got really tired ;-)
