REVIEW: Lancome Mousse Clarté Self-foaming Cleanser

I started Lancome’s Self-foaming Cleanser in 2007 because my combination skin continued developing black heads (especially around the nose) despite using Dermalogica’s Essential Cleansing Solution for more than a year.

Recommended for normal to combination skin, the self-foaming cleanser offered this promise:

“Giving clear, fresh skin in seconds, this cleansing water instantly transforms into a light, airy foam. Apply to a wet face and rinse off with warm water. Avoid contact with the eyes.”

When I started using it, I thought I may have pumped out too much because my face felt slightly taut after washing. Giving the next pumps a more “gentle” action, I used less foam yet my face still had that slightly tight feeling.

Since I bought it for RM98 (200 ml), I had to continue using it – I do believe in giving the product a chance to prove itself. Later, I had to buy another bottle when I accidentally left it behind at my mother-in-law’s home during Chinese New Year!

After more than a year, I find that this self-foaming cleanser is quite OK for combination skins during the summer. During the winter or in drier climates, the foaming cleanser may just be a bit harsh…

Anyway, the Lancome website shows that that THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. Looks like I’ll have to try Lancome’s new foaming cleaner or find another brand.

I just turned into a dermalogical client and has been using some of their products for a few months now. I bought from a 3rd party online store and they are so much cheaper!

Angeleyes – How much cheaper? Also, are they the real stuff? I’ve seen a lot of fakes (or rejects) over here, it’s impressive. Do be careful because they LOOK the same!
