My 11th month had been a truly exciting one, with the following highlights:
Lucky 8. Here is one of the snapshots with my smarmy smile. This is all Mum’s fault – she only wanted to capture all eight of my pearly whites he he =)
Week with WY jie-jie. WY jie jie (Chinese=elder sister) came to stay with me for a week and I had LOADS OF FUN! She has to be my favorite jie-jie because she played with me, carried me, made me laugh and teased me. When the holidays ended, she had to go back to school. When are you going to stay with us again???
My first Christmas. Together with Auntie O, WY jie-jie set up and decorated the Christmas tree while I watched all the activity in awe. Surprisingly, I did not touch anything on the tree – I’d approach it, circle it, bounce in front of it and even lift a hand within an inch of it. But, I would never touch it! Hmm…early sense of reverence??? For a plastic, Christmas tree???
Both WS and WY jie-jie very excited over ‘presents’. Even Auntie D was very excited when she placed this huge package in front of me. I was contented to smile and flap my arms. I didn’t know what it was
She had to tear off half of the wrapping before I showed any interest in the ‘Snail Pail’. Great toy! I learned ‘open/close’, ‘in/out’ and rocking with it…
I now indulge in a variety of interests. Nothing is safe from me anymore with my new found mobility and dexterity. Among the things that I love to do are:
a) Looking for lizard. Ooh…never mention this word or I’ll go on and on about it. I’ll crane my neck upwards like this and stare at pictures, going “mmh…mmh!!!” earnestly for that poor, little lizard.
Mum regrets ever bringing up this wretched creature and will put me off by repeatedly telling me either
1. the lizard has gone to bed or
2. the lizard is also having his porridge, like what I’m supposed to do!
b) Freelance feng-shui master. Hmm…for great prosperity and continuous cute-ivism in your life with the end of the Dog year, wearing tiger-eyes will bode good fortune to the wearer in this auspicious year of the Pig.
Remember: “The Dog will never let you down. Born under this sign you are honest, and faithful to those you love. You are plagued by constant worry, a sharp tongue, and a tendency to be a fault finder, however.
You would make an excellent businessman, activist, teacher, or secret agent.” Now, where is that lizard again???
c) Fighting with Mum over the remote control. Know what a TV addict my Mum is? Now I know how to get her attention he he he. Just grab that remote!
Initially, she gave me the DVD player control. I was happy until I kept pressing the buttons and realized, hey! this is NOT the real thing. Oh no, only the TV and Astro remote controls for this smarty pants.
d) Loving my books. “Yeah, right,” you scoff. Don’t believe that this tiny tot can appreciate fine literature? Please then may I call your attention to that highly sophisticated tome I hold before in leisure below…astrophysics, methinks or is it thermodynamics? Oops, that looks like Santa Claus!
Okay, then, what about this shot of me at wee, 6 months? Perusing the finer points of management accounting…or perhaps farm animals.
Excuse me, how many of you out there know that a cow goes “moo-moo”, a dog goes “woof-woof”, a cat goes “me-yeow” or a chick goes “cheep-cheep”???
Just as I thought – no one! It’s time to cultivate a reading habit, my friend.
At my chubby 3 months, I already knew the invaluable benefits of knowing the A-Z on the history of architecture…and also the F-J of frog, grapes, house, ice and jam he he he he
A definite sleeping style. I’m definitely a “burrower”. When bedtime comes, and if I’m not in the mood for any “pat-pat”, I’ll just grab my bolster, flip over and cover my face with it.
Other times, I’ll flip the other side and bury my face deep into Mummy’s armpit (yucks! but fascinatingly cozy for me) or stomach. Yup, I’m a confirmed little weirdo!
[This video has been removed and Mummy given a good scolding for letting me cry while she film me! No more such naughtiness from her]
P/S This is Mummy’s 101th post!!! She can’t believe she’s been posting for that long

OMG!!! Jayden always does that horsey thinggy too! And poor boy crying and mummy is happily taking his video! haha
We should let them meet ya…ok, ok, hubby scolded me last night for posting up that ‘crying’ video. I think I’ll take it away before I got other Mums scolding me too…but he does look cute.
For the record, I didn’t make him cry ok!!! He just wanted me to carry him for 100th time
wah, i like your set of lucky 8! envious…all my set of (unlucky?) 4 not fully out yet also.
and dont worry abt your mummy saying it’s obscene that you’re doing the horsey motion, i used to do it alot too and still do it at times (although i dont move as much). obscene meh?! geez..
Congrats on your 101th post! Keep them coming…He is so adorable with his antics. That crying bit was a little bit unkind, though, but this post is very entertaining.
aaaawwwww…. the little fella is soooo cute! He has 8???? So envious! Darrius only have 7 so far… wondering why #8 take soooo long to come out!
That horsey thingy, Darrius used to do that too when he first learned how to crawl… and we love to get him do it by saying “shake ur butt-butt!”
